A WEEKLY BOX OF SEASONAL PRODUCE

The weekly box of produce is designed to give families the opportunity to receive the best of what is currently in season at “the patch.” Based upon the concept of a CSA, families enroll in the program and fresh-picked produce is packaged for you on the farm and delivered to a convenient location near your home or workplace during the months of June through mid-September. Produce Packs include produce that has been grown at “the patch,” as well as, top quality produce from other trusted local farms; therefore, you can be assured that your produce is homegrown!

HIGHLIGHTS OF PRODUCE YOU MIGHT RECEIVE

The variety and of quantity of produce are dependent on weather and may vary through the growing season.  During peak season, a pack may consist of the following:

  • 1 dozen of Aces High Sweet Corn, cauliflower, 1 cantaloupe, 1/2 pint blueberries, 5 regular red tomatoes, 1 large Brandywine tomatoes, 1 large yellow tomato, lettuce, 4 green peppers, and a lemon cucumber.

What is a CSA?

CSA is an acronym for Community Supported Agriculture. The Produce Patch Farm Market is giving our community a
chance to invest in a share of your local farmer’s crop for the season. By participating in a CSA, you are partnering
with your local farmers to provide you with a good value and variety of healthy, fresh produce. By partnering with
The Patch, you become a valued member of our farm family. Your support allows us to share our harvest and be a
strong contributor to our local food economy.
The CSA allows us to fulfill our mission. Our mission is to share our heritage and passion for hard work and
agriculture by bringing the farm to our customers every day with healthy, delicious, locally grown fruits and
vegetables in convenient locations with service that is helpful, knowledgeable, and makes you smile.

What is the Freedom CSA?

The Produce Patch is offering a new way to support our farm and join our CSA program. New for 2018, we will be offering
“The Freedom CSA”. This new program allows members to combine the benefits of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
with the flexibility and convenience of CHOOSING when, where and what produce they receive for their membership. This
represents a new choice to partner with your local farmer and allow The Patch to share our harvest with our CSA members.

How does the Freedom CSA work?

After signing up for the program, members will receive an electronic card that can be used for produce at any of our 5 Produce
Patch Farm Market locations during the entire 2018 produce season.

What are the benefits of The Freedom CSA?

What is the cost?

Members of the Freedom CSA will receive an electronic card with a $300 value for the cost of $275.00. The cost of the card
reflects a 9% discount on your produce. This is the only program offered by the Produce Patch that gives such a
comprehensive discount on all of our produce at any time during the season. The deadline for signup is May 1 st , 2018.
Payment for the Freedom CSA must be paid in full by the start of CSA season which begins May 22 nd , 2018. Members will be
able to pick up their card at their designated market on May 22 nd or after.

Does the card expire?

Yes. Each membership will expire at the end of the 2018 produce season. Any remaining balance will NOT be transferred to the
next season.

Traditional "Weekly Pack" CSA Questions

What is the PRODUCE PACK program?

The Produce Pack is a weekly box of seasonal produce is designed to give families the opportunity to receive the
best of what is currently in season at “The Patch.” Based upon the concept of a CSA, families enroll in the program
and fresh-picked produce is packaged for you on the farm and delivered to a convenient location from mid-May
through mid-September. Produce Packs include produce that has been grown at “the patch,” as well as, top quality
produce from other trusted local farms; therefore, you can be assured that your produce is homegrown!

What is the cost of participating in the Produce Pack Program?

Your investment in the program is $320 for the 16-week season. We strongly encourage one payment in full of $320
on or before the first produce pack delivery so you will be all set for the remainder of the season. However, you
may pay in 2 equal installments. The first payment of $160 will be due upon the first produce pack delivery, which is
the week of May 22nd. The second installment will be due halfway through the season, which is the week of July
9th.
Payment will be accepted via cash, check, or credit card on or before May 22nd.

Where and when will I begin receiving my pack?

Produce packs will be delivered to The Produce Patch Farm Market locations in Washington beginning Tuesday, May
22, 2018 through September 4, 2018. Your boxes will be available for pick-up anytime between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Produce packs will be delivered to The Produce Patch Farm Market Loogootee and Jasper locations on Wednesdays
at 11 a.m. You are welcome to pick up your produce boxes anytime between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Produce pack members will receive their boxes the week beginning Tuesday, May 22nd and continue through the week of
September 4th .

How does the text reminder work?

Each week, you will receive a text reminding of the produce pack delivery. The pick-up day and timeframe will be
included on the text. We kindly request that you do not reply to reminder texts if you are unable to pick-up your
box, but email our staff at help@patchfarmmarket.com or call (812)687-7736.

What if I am unable to pick up my produce pack?

We encourage you to share your pack with a friend and request they pick up on your behalf. If alternate arrangements are not feasible, we kindly request that you let us know 24 hours advance if you are unable to pick up
your pack and we will provide you with a $20 gift certificate the following week when you pick up your subsequent produce pack. The $20 gift certificate is redeemable at any of our Produce Patch Farm Markets. We are able to offer this benefit to each member up to 2 times for the season.
If you are unable to pick up your box at the designated delivery location and time and do not make alternative arrangements, please understand you are agreeing to forfeit your box for that specific week.

What can I expect to receive in my weekly box?

The variety and of quantity of produce are dependent on weather and may vary through the growing season; however, each box will 4 or more produce items depending on availability. An example of box delivered during the 2016 season included: cantaloupe, pint of cherry tomatoes, 2lb. of green beans, pint of blackberries, 2 green peppers, and 3 lb. of potatoes.
Please understand, the amount of produce will vary depending on availability. Typically, the first several boxes of the season will contain fewer items. As the season progresses and more items become available, the boxes will contain more items and variety. We will always do our best to provide a good value for your CSA investment.

What if there are types of produce I do not like or prefer not to receive?

No problem! Just make sure you circle the items you do to want to receive on your enrollment form and we will do our best to substitute with the produce varieties that you love!

Do you prefer I bring my box back for re-use?

In order to comply with food safety standards, we do not reuse boxes. We recommend you reuse your box at home or place in your recyclables.

What if the Produce Pack Program isn’t for me?

We promise, that if you are unhappy with the program and it isn’t a fit for you and your family, we will refund you the unused portion of your subscription. Don’t forget we have the Freedom CSA program as well.
