SWEET CORN
Fresh, Handpicked, & Homegrown
We are PASSIONATE about Sweet Corn! It is our sincere desire that our sweet corn will help bring your family together around the dinner table! We work hard to grow the BEST VARIETIES of bi-color sweet corn. Our signature variety is ACES HIGH! Well known far and wide for being the most AMAZING sweet corn they have ever eaten. It is usually ready around July 6th-8th each year.
How do we grow it?
We begin planting sweet corn as early in the spring as possible. We have sandy soils on our farm so we are able to plant early in the Spring, usually around April 1st. After that we do our best to plant a new planting EVERY WEEK up until about July 4th. This is so that we will have fresh plantings coming on all summer long. The majority of the time we can go from one planting right into another all summer long!
We hand-pick our sweet corn EVERY SINGLE DAY to ensure freshness and quality! – During sweet corn season our crew heads to the Patch 7 days a week at the crack of dawn. We do this so we can get the sweet corn picked before the day heats up. Once picked, it is loaded on our trucks and trailers and delivered to the markets.
It is best consumed within 2 days. The sweetness of sweet corn decreases and turns to starch over time. But when eating right away is not possible it is best stored in the husks in the refrigerator.
No, corn is not sold by the bushel. We sell corn by individual ears and by the dozen. We offer Party Bags that contain four Baker’s dozens (52 ears) which is very close to a bushel of corn.
Aces High is usually ready around the 10th of July!
Ways To Cook Our Sweet Corn
Boil – “Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place husked and de-silked ears into the boiling water. Water will stop boiling momentarily and then begin again. Once water starts to boil again, let cook for three minutes.”
Microwave – “Place four ears of non-husked corn into the microwave. Microwave for two minutes, then flip all of the ears. Microwave for two more minutes. Remove the husks and enjoy!”
Grill – “Soak non-husked corn in water for one hour. Place ears of corn on the grill and cook until the husk becomes dark. Flip the corn over and cook until the other side of the husk becomes dark. Take the corn off the grill, remove the husks, and enjoy!”
Storing Our Sweet Corn
Refrigerate (temporarily) – When you can’t eat your sweet corn right away: “Remove the silks from the top of the corn ears. Leave the husks on the ears. Keep in the refrigerator for up to one week.”
Freezer – “Husk corn and boil for two minutes. Cool corn in an ice bath. Remove corn from the cob and scrape the cob to extract remaining juice and pulp. Place corn in freezer bags and lay flat to freeze.”

While growing up on her family’s produce farm in Ohio, Amy’s Grandpa always taught her to sell a “Baker’s Dozen.” when customers purchase a dozen of corn. We always want to be absolutely sure you get great value for your money. We continue this long tradition of giving an extra ear with the purchase of 12!
PARTY BAGS available! A party bag is a big bag of sweet corn containing 4 Baker’s Dozens (52 ears). Great for large groups, sharing with neighbors or freezing for the winter. It’s the best price deal.
